Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays and Feliz Navidad from Children of the Light!!

This has been a season of growth for Children of the Light! I (Genna – volunteer from Connecticut, USA) am posting from the US, so I can’t speak on behalf of everyone in La Ceiba, but from the work I’ve been doing here (see below) and the updates in the newest COTL Newsletter (click thumbnails below), I can safely say we are making strides day after day.

Not only are more boys graduating every year, but with the generous support of our extended family, COTL can continue working on finishing the dorm building, which will one day house nearly 40 boys.  Here is a comparison from May 2009 to November 2009 to show you how much progress has been made:

What a difference!!  One day the dorm will be completely finished, and God willing COTL will have enough continuous support to provide a loving home and family for that many more homeless boys and staff to care for them.

We had FOUR graduates in November this year!

• Milton graduated from Kindergarten
• Marlon and Maynor both graduated from the 6th grade
• Eduardo graduated from high school!

COTL is Going Global!

Over the past year or so, volunteers have been working hard to make COTL known to as many people on the planet as possible!

Although the job is never done, here are a few examples of what they have accomplished and continue to revise in 2009:
